Positive Coaching Alliance and Coaching Corps Merge, Seek Strategic Advice
Positive Coaching Alliance and Coaching Corps, a long-time client of Kronley & Associates, have merged to create a powerful and dynamic organization devoted to ensuring that every young person has access to the benefits of a positive sports experience. The new Positive Coaching Alliance (PCA) will leverage the strengths and experiences of the two organizations to engage young people, coaches, teachers, parents, schools, communities, and supporters in developing and deploying best practices to create a new culture of youth sports. PCA will promote inclusion, focus on social and emotional skills and character development, and enable every child, regardless of social and cultural circumstances, to experience sports as a joyful and affirming experience. The firm will advise the Positive Coaching Alliance on strategies to reach its goals.
Southern Education Foundation Accelerates Efforts to Promote Educational Equity
The nation’s oldest staffed Foundation, the Southern Education Foundation (SEF) is now a public charity focused on propelling policies and practices that improve education, bolster learning, and significantly enhance the life chances and experiences of Black students, other students of color, and students from low-income families. It pursues these outcomes through initiatives that center on research and policy, government affairs and advocacy, and development; these efforts are enhanced through partnerships with other organizations. At a moment when demands for systemic racial justice are amplified, SEF is especially well-suited and well-positioned to lead in promoting equity. At the same time, states are enacting policies that limit what students can learn and restrict what teachers can teach, imposing disciplinary practices that disproportionately fall on non-white students, cutting investments in education, and making schools the battleground in ongoing culture wars. SEF desires to develop and test strategies that recognize the contexts in which it functions and that will enhance its impact. It has requested advice and assistance from Kronley & Associates in developing a new strategic plan.
Kronley & Associates provides advice and assistance to philanthropic and nonprofit organizations, school systems, colleges and universities, various governmental agencies, and businesses and families with charitable interests, enabling them to anticipate and respond to change.
The firm brings more than 35 years’ experience to its work in strategic planning, evaluation, policy and program analysis, program development, financial and budgetary analysis, facilitation, and the provision of targeted advice on change issues. Substantive areas of interest include education and comprehensive education reform, arts and culture, youth development, equity, community and economic development, social services, and philanthropic and corporate giving. A good deal of what we do is directed to promoting economic, social, and educational equity and eliminating inequality, and is a product of deeply held beliefs.
